PURPOSE: To produce a high quality magnetic head flexure in a close area saving the space with good efficiency by fixedly positioning a pack in a lapping machine to use a fixed weight assembly with an isolated slider.
CONSTITUTION: A transfer tool, that is, a pack 88 is fitted to a jig fixture. After plural head flexure assemblies 171 are fitted to the pack 88, the pack 88 is removed from the jig fixture. Subsequently, the pack 88 to which the assemblies 171 are fitted is fixedly positioned on a lapping machine comprising a lap plate assembly 52, and by use of a fixed weight assembly 68 with an isolated pneumatic support slider 176 where a thin film converter is formed, a predetermined outline of the pneumatic support surface of the slider 176 is obtained, and to give a designated throat height to the converter, lapping is performed separately.
