PURPOSE: To enhance the bleaching ability of a soln. for bleaching silver halide color photographic material by incorporating diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid iron (II) complex salt, and ions of a metal selected from a group of specified metals, and a specified compd.

CONSTITUTION: A bleaching soln. and a bleach fixing soln. contain an iron (II) diethylenetriaminepentaacetate complex salt, and ions of a metal selected from a group of Ni, Co, Zn, Ce, Ru, Y, and Sm, and a compd. represented by the formula shown here to obtain a sufficient bleach acceleration effect by the presence of said complex salt, said metal ions, and said bleach accelerating agent. The salts of H, alkali metals, NH4, etc. of said complex are used, and K, Na, and NH4 salts are preferable. Any bleach accelerating agent can be used so long as it has the structure shown by the formula. An excellent bleach acceleration effect is obtained by using said complex salt as an oxidant and in the presence of both of said ions and compd.
