PURPOSE: To simply obtain the compound used as a synthetic intermediate for a compound useful as an antiinflammatory agent, analgesic agent, or antipy retic agent by using a specific dinitrochlorobenzene as a starting raw material, the dinitrochlorobenzene being industrially massively supplied at a low cost.
CONSTITUTION: This compound of formula I (R1 is 3-8C cycloalkyl, phenyl; R2 is acyl; R3 is 1-4C alkyl) is obtained by reacting 2,4dinitrochlorobenzene with a R1-OH and an alkali metal hydroxide or alkali metal carbonate salt at -30 to 100°C, catalytically reducing the obtained compound of formula II in the presence of a catalyst comprising the eighth group metal in the periodic table in a hydrogen atmosphere at 0-100° in the same solvent without isolating the intermediate product, selectively acylating the reaction product in the same solvent without isolating the intermediate product, and further selectively sulfonylating the reaction product with an alkylsulfonyl chloride of a formula: R3 SO2Cl preferably in the presence of a base at 0-100°C.
