Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a process for producing acrylonitrile from n-butane in high efficiency.

CONSTITUTION: Acrylonitrile is produced by the catalytic vapor-phase oxidation reaction of n-butane with ammonia in the presence of a multiple oxide catalyst containing molybdenum, vanadium and tellurium.
