Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain titled phosphane useful as an intermediate for agricultural chemicals, flame-retardants, etc., in high purity and yield, by reducing a reaction product consisting of an alkyl halide with yellow phosphorus in the presence of iodine.
CONSTITUTION: (A) A reaction product obtained by the Friedel-Crafts reaction of (i) an alkyl halide with (ii) a phosphorus trihalide is reduced with yellow phosphorus in the presence of (B) iodine to afford the aimed phosphane. Furthermore, (D) methylene chloride is preferably used as a solvent and the amount of the component (B) is preferably at most 10wt.% based on the component (C). Methyl chloride is preferably used as the component (i).
