Abstract:
PURPOSE: To convert a diallyl ether compound produced as a by-product in the reaction of a conjugated alkadiene with water into an allyl alcohol compound by reacting a diallyl ether compound with water in the presence of a palladium compound.
CONSTITUTION: This allyl alcohol compound is produced by reacting a conjugated alkadiene with water in the presence of carbon dioxide and a catalyst composed of a palladium compound and phosphines or phosphites and reacting the by-produced dialkadienyl ether compound, etc., with water in the presence of a palladium compound.
