Abstract:

PURPOSE: To produce Al-Ti granules and powder for electrolytic capacitors by mixing Al powder with Ti powder, hydrogenated Ti powder or a powder mixture thereof, and heat treating the mixture then grinding and classifying the same.

CONSTITUTION: Powder of Al is mixed with Ti powder with ≤10μm grain sizes, powder of hydrogenated Ti with likewise ≤10μm grain size, or a mixture of these powders. The powder mixture thereof is heated to 500W1,200°C in an inert gaseous atmosphere, and is melt-stuck partly. After the mixture is cooled, the mixture is ground and is further classified with sieves, whereby the granular Al- Ti powder which is larger in sizes than the Ti powder and Al powder of raw materials, retains the initial electrostatic capacity when used for electrolytic capacitors and provides excellent workability is obtained.
