Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain the title resin which is excellent in flexibility and adhesion and used as a sealant for IC or the like, thin films and smooth films, by reaction of a glycidyl ether of phenolic novolak or the like with a specific organosilicon compound in an oxygen-containing organic solvent.
CONSTITUTION: The objective resin is obtained by reaction of (A) a glycidyl ether of phenol novolak and/or cresol novolak with (B) an aminosilane of the formula (X is methyl, phenyl where the number ratio of methyl and phenyl is 10/1W1/10; R1, R2 are 2W3C alkylene; n is 10W100) in an organic solvent bearing oxygen atoms in the form of ether or ester in the same molecule such as methyl cellosolve, preferably at 80W130°C for 1W6 hours.
