Abstract:
PURPOSE: Urea, furfural, water and a hydrocarbon solvent are admixed to a lubricant fraction, the precipitate formed is removed, the hydrocarbon solvent is evaporated of and the furfural extract is separated to dewax the high pouring point lubricant fraction, providing lubricant base oil of high quality in high yields.
