Title:
PRODUCTION OF CARBONIC ESTER FROM CARBON DIOXIDE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3128576
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a carbonic ester useful as a raw material or the like for e.g. production of polycarbonates, with an extremely inexpensive carbonylation agent having no toxicity and corrosiveness and a catalyst easy in handling by reacting carbon dioxide with an acetal compound in the presence of a tin oxide.
SOLUTION: This compound is obtained by reacting carbon dioxide with an acetal compound such acetonedimethylacetal in the presence of a tin oxide such as dibutyltin oxide, preferably in the presence of a Lewis acid such as a compound of the formula: BF3.OEt2 (Et is ethyl), preferably at 80-200°C for 1-100 h. The amount of the above tin oxide to be used as a catalyst is preferably 1/10,000 to 1/50 mol per mol of the above acetal compound.
