Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a method to produce a ferrite stainless steel at low cost to be used as the center core material of a floppy disk for which good wear resistance and secondary processing property are required.

CONSTITUTION: A ferrite stainless steel containing 11-20% Cr is subjected to cold rolling with ≥10% reduction rate to obtain a sheet of specified thickness, and then the sheet is annealed at low temp. between ≥550°C and ≤700°C.
