Abstract:
PURPOSE:To produce a commercially valuable chlorosulfonated polyolefin in the presence of a solvent which is a substance outside the legal regulation. CONSTITUTION:A process for producing a chlorosulfonated polyolefin comprising chlorinating or chlorinating and chlorosulfonating a polyolefin dissolved or suspended in a solvent with a mixture of chlorine with sulfur dioxide, a mixture of chlorine with sulfuryl chloride, sulfuryl chloride alone, a mixture of chlorine, sulfur dioxide with sulfuryl chloride or a mixture of sulfuryl chloride with sulfur dioxide in the presence of a free radical generator as a catalyst, wherein monofluorobenzene is used as the solvent.
