Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a cold-setting waterproofing agent for coating films which can be applied throughout the year and has excellent mechanical properties by combining a specified isocyanate-terminated prepolymer with an aromatic polyamine curing agent.
SOLUTION: In a process for producing a two-package cold-setting waterproofing agent for coating films comprising a base mainly comprising an isocyanate- terminated prepolymer obtained by reacting tolylene diisocyanate with a polyol and a curing agent based on an aromatic polyamine, the aromatic polyamine is a mixture of 40-90mol% diethyltoluenediamine an 10-60mol% polyalkylene ether polyol p-aminobenzoate, and the base is mixed with the curing agent in an equivalent ratio of the isocyanate groups of the base to the amino groups of the aromatic polyamine of 0.8-2.0 at the site of application, applied, and cured.
