Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain a the title material in which a sufficient amt. of an abrasive material is firmly fixed to the surface of a nucleus powder and which has good abrasiveness by fixing the abrasive material to the surface of the powder by applying mixing and grinding forces or a mechanical impact force and softening the surface by heating. CONSTITUTION:The title material is prepd. by fixing an abrasive material (e.g. a fine powder of silicon carbide or aluminum oxide) to the surface of a nucleus powder (e.g. a glass powder) by applying mixing and grinding forces and/or a mechanical impact force and softening the surface by heating. In the first step wherein the above forces are applied, a sufficiently strong contact between the powder and the abrasive material is obtd. and the amt. of the abrasive material fixed to each particle of the powder is made uniform and enough. In the second step, i.e., the heating step, the abrasive material is firmly fixed, giving the title material having a good abrasiveness.
