PURPOSE: To uniformize solute concn. in each pool at the time of continuously casting a double layered cast slab by supplying molten steels having different compositions respectively into the upper and the lower pools of continuously cast strand pools divided by a DC magnetic field.
CONSTITUTION: The DC magnetic field 10 having uniform strength is impressed over the width direction of the cast slab so as to cross the thickness of the cast slab at the lower part keeping a fixed distance from a molten steel meniscus in the continuous casting mold 1. The angle of spouting hole of an immersion nozzle 13 is adjusted within 45° in the vertical direction to pour the molten steel having the fixed composition into the upper part pool 4 divided by the DC magnetic fiend 10. The molten steel is cast while adding a prescribed solute element into the molten steel entering into the lower part pool 5 by a wire 14. It is preferable to set a refractory-made partition plate 15 near the position of the DC magnetic field 10 of the immersion nozzle 13 and to stir the lower part pool 5 by a shifting magnetic field.
