Abstract:
To provide a method for producing a poly(ethylene isophthalate/ ethylene terephthalate) copolyester suitable for gas barrier containers, etc., capable of stably producing the copolyester, and to provide a device for producing the copolyester.
A method for producing a poly(ethylene isophthalate/ethylene terephthalate) copolyester comprising ethylene isophthalate units and ethylene terephthalate units in a molar ratio of 95/5 to 15/85. Therein, the characteristics comprise disposing a wet condenser 3 between a polycondensation reaction vessel 1 and a pressure-reducing device 7 and jetting ethylene glycol from the upper nozzle 4 of the wet condenser 3 in a shower state at jetting angles of 60-180 degree.
