Title:
PRODUCTION OF DENITRATION CATALYST
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH01215345
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a catalyst having high activity in spite of the low vanadium content by reducing the specific surface area of a compsn. consisting of metatitanic acid and molybdate by heat treatment and by adding vanadium.

CONSTITUTION: The specific surface area of a compsn. consisting of metatitanic acid and molybdate is reduced by heat treatment at 150°CW600°C. The compsn. is then kneaded with a vanadium-contg. compd. such as vanadate or vanadyl sulfate and ammonium sulfate and the kneaded material is molded, dried and calcined to obtain a denitration catalyst for catalytic reduction with ammonia. This catalyst has high activity in spite of the low vanadium content and the concn. of the active component is uniform in the surface layer and interior of the catalyst, so the activity is not reduced even when the surface exfoliates.
