PURPOSE: To provide the process for production of the dielectric ceramic material at a low sintering temp.
CONSTITUTION: This process for production of the dielectric ceramic material consists in repetitively executing, a desired number of times, a stage for tentative calcining the raw material powder which can be made into the dielectric ceramic material and a stage for pulverizing the tentative calcined matter obtd. in this stage to form tentative calcined powder, the compaction molding the tentative calcined powder to a desired shape and sintering the green compact by heating. At least one time of the above-mentioned tentative calcining stages are executed at a high temp. of 0.75 to 0.85Tm and the raw material powder of the dielectric ceramics is brought into reaction to a dielectric phase in the stage of tentative calcination and the tentative calcined powder to be subjected to the compaction molding is made into superfine powder of submicron order. As a result, the sintering temp. is lowered by 200 to 300°C and the formation of coarse crystal grains is prevented. In addition the selection of the electrode material to be mounted to the heating sintered body in a wide field taking the electrical conductivity into consideration is enabled by the lowering of the sintering temp.
