Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain the large-sized electrophoresis device by laminating photosensitive materials on a 1st substrate, subjecting the materials to exposing and developing via a photomask to provide plural pieces of the isolated remaining parts each sized <=10<-1>mm<2> and disposing a 2nd substrate opposite to the above- mentioned substrate by using these parts as spacers. CONSTITUTION:The photoresist 3 is superposed on the transparent plate 1 provided with a transparent conductive film 5 and is exposed with UV rays via the photomask and developed, by which the projecting parts having 0.12 to 0.18mm diameter and 50mu thickness are provided at 1mm pitch and the substrate with the spacers is obtd. The degradation in display quality is obviated if the projecting parts (remaining parts) are kept <=10<-1>mm<2>. A polyethylene terephthalate film 4 coated with about 10mu adhesive 11 is then laminated on the cell to form the display panel. An electrophoresis dispersion system is injected into this panel and the panel is hermetically sealed to obtain the display panel. The uniformity of the spacer density is obtd. according to this constitution. The display grade is improved and the continuous production is possible.
