Title:
PRODUCTION OF DISSIMILAR MATERIAL COMPOSITE CASTING
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS55144370
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain the cylinder or circular column whose outside and inside shells are of dissimilar materials and whose outside shell is of the axially partially dissimilar material integral with the inside shell by centrifugally casting the respective outside shell molten metals of plural dissimilar kinds into the respective portions of the mold segmented in the axial direction and pouring the inside shell molten metal into the outside shell thus obtained.

CONSTITUTION: For example, it is assumed that the steel bar rolling roll integrally formed with outside shell portions 3, 4 and inside shell 1 of materials of mutually different chemical compositions respectively meeting requirements is going to be manufactured. To this end, a partition member 7 is erected to a suitable height on the inside surface of a centrifugal casting mold 5 which is supported and rotated by revolving rolls 6 to segment between sand molds 8. Two kinds of outside shell molten metals of different chemical compositions are poured into the respective segmented portions through the spouts 10 inserted into this mold 5 from its one or both opening ends and are centrifugally cast. Following to this, the inside shell molten metal is poured into the outside shell of dissimilar materials at the resultant axial portions 3, 4 by a centrifugal casting method or standing the mold 5 upright and a place-pouring casting method. In this way, the outside shell portions 3, 4 and inside shell are integrally fusion-bonded and the cylindrical or columnar composite roll is obtained.
