Title:
PRODUCTION OF FERRITIC STAINLESS STEEL WELDED TUBE SATISFACTORY IN WORKABILITY
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2000326079
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To produce a stainless steel welded tube satisfactory in workability by reducing a hardness difference between a welded part and a base metal part, even after leveling.

A ferritic stainless steel strip containing Ti, Nb of ≤1 wt.% alone or in total is formed into an open tube, butted parts are welded by laser beam. The temp., when a welded tube passes a straightening stand, is controlled to a temp. of 150°C or lower so that a hardness difference ΔHV (=HVW-HVB) between a Vickers hardness HVW of a welded part and a Vickers hardness HVB of a base metal part is in the range of 10-80 and a proof stress of a stock is 80% or higher of the room temp. proof stress.
