PURPOSE: To obtain a granular soap low in scattering of particle size, excellent in solubility in water and having a high bulk density by heating and dehydrating a soap dough under a reduced pressure, subsequently adding additives thereto at a specified temperature, kneading the resultant mixture, then crushing and granulating it.
CONSTITUTION: Fat and oil of animal or plant source as the raw materials, e.g. beef tallow or lard are alkali-saponified with caustic soda, etc., and the resultant soap dough containing 20 to 50wt.% water is heated and dehydrated under a reduced pressure. Additives (e.g. a metal blocking agent such as EDTA and a resoiling inhibitor such as CMC) are subsequently added thereto at 50 to 80°C and the resultant mixture is then crushed and granulated by using a crushing and granulating machine. Thus, the objective soap is produced.
