Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a material excellent in the corrosion resistance in concentrated sulfuric acid by rolling under the prescribed condition a stainless steel having a composition consisting of each prescribed quantity of C, Si, Mn, Ni, Cr, each content of Cr, Si, Ni, satisfying the prescribed equation and the balance Fe.
CONSTITUTION: A stainless steel having a composition consisting of, by weight, ≤0.08% C, 4.0-8.0% Si, ≤2.0% Mn, 10-35% Ni, 16-25% Cr, each content of Cr, Si and Ni satisfying the inequality I and the balance Fe is cladded a steel sheet on one side at least and rolled to a clad steel sheet. After heated in the Th temp. range satisfying the inequality II, subjecting to hot rolling at the draft R over five and satisfying the inequality III in the temp. region of ≥700°C. By this method. The high Si stainless steel clad sheet excellent in the corrosion resistance in approximate 95-99% sulfuric and usable up to approximate 200°C in 98% sulfuric acid in particular can be obtained.
