Abstract:

PURPOSE: To inexpensively produce the semiconductor laser module with high operability by decreasing the number of operations for focusing the lens of the semiconductor laser module and decreasing the number of parts.

CONSTITUTION: The lens 22 for focusing and introducing the laser beam from a semiconductor light emitting element 20 disposed between this semiconductor light emitting element 20 and the fiber end face 15a of a coated optical fiber 14 to the fiber end face 15a of the coated optical fiber 14 is integrally formed on the fiber end face 15a of the coated optical fiber 14. This lens 22 is formed by heating and melting the front end of the fiber to be connected to the fiber 15 of the coated optical fiber 14 or the coated optical fiber by a plasma discharge, etc.
