Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for producing a liquid crystal display element with which the disturbance in sealing edges, the generation of air bubbles within the seals, the occurrence of display color irregularity and cell gap unevenness are suppressed.
SOLUTION: A pair of electrode substrates 1, 2 are pressurized by discharging air from a discharge port 8 and utilizing atm. pressure after holding a pair of the electrode substrates 1, 2 with press jigs. The pressure of this time puts the vacuum degree between a pair of the electrode substrates at P1 and after the electrode substrates are held in this state for 15 minutes, the electrode substrates are charged into a chamber and heating is started. The temp. is continuously raised and after the substrates are held for 60 minutes at a sealing curing end temp. T2, the substrates are cooled for 30 minutes from the sealing curing end temp. T2 down to room temp. The vacuum degree P2 is held until the cooling is completed.
