Title:
PRODUCTION OF METAL COMPLEX
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3127240
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a specific metal complex useful as a raw material for a catalyst and an organometallic compound, etc., by a one-stage reaction simply in high yield by bringing a halogen simple substance into contact with a tetraalkylammonium halide and a metal in an organic solvent.
SOLUTION: Stoichiometric amounts of a halogen simple substance (B) and a tetraalkylammonium halide (C) are dissolved in an organic solvent (A) such as acetonitrile or benzene, further mixed with an excessive amount of a metal (D) such as gold, silver, palladium or zinc and reacted, for example, at the reflux temperature of the component A. The unreacted component D is removed from the prepared reaction mixture and then a metal complex consisting of a halogenated metal anion and a tetraalkylammonium cation [e.g. a complex of formula I (R1 to R4 are each an alkyl; MI is a metal having 2 coordination number and 1 valence; X is a halogen), formula II (MIII is a metal having 4 coordination number and 3 valence), formula III (MII is a metal having 4 coordination number and 2 valence) or formula IV] is separated.
