To provide a method for efficiently producing naturally-derived isovaleric acid having no unusual odor like chemicals and suitable for food application.

A production method of a culture containing isovaleric acid includes a process for culturing an yeast that belongs to Pichia and has capacity to produce isovaleric acids in a medium that contains 20-50 mM of leucine.
