Title:
PRODUCTION METHOD FOR ETHYLENE POLYMER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3715595
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an ethylene polymer having a lower mol.wt. and a narrower mol.wt. distribution than those of an ethylene polymer obtained by using a generally used Phillips catalyst; and a method for producing an ethylene polymer having a good balance between environmental stress crack resistance (ESCR) and impact resistance and having a mol.wt. distribution widened by multistep polymerization.
SOLUTION: This method for producing an ethylene polymer uses an organoaluminum-compound-carrying chromium catalyst which is prepared by causing an inorganic oxide carrier to carry a chromium compound of which at least a part of chromium atoms become hexavalent when activated by baking in a non-reducing atmosphere, activating the chromium compound by baking, causing the chromium compound to carry an organoaluminum compound in an inert hydrocarbon solvent, and removing the solvent to dry. An ethylene polymer prepared by the method is also provided.
