PURPOSE: To produce various decorating effects by distributing mineral fiber paste over the surface of a substrate, spraying two or more kinds of colorants having different colors on the paste and leveling the paste with a screed.
CONSTITUTION: A mineral fiber slurry 5 is prepd., sheeted with a paper making machine 6, cured and hardened to produce a fiber substrate 1. Mineral fiber paste 2 is distributed over the substrate 1. The paste 2 is prepd. by dehydrating a mat 7 obtd. from the slurry 5 with a dehydrator 8, crushing the mat 7 with a crusher 9 and kneading the resulting powder with a thickener in a hopper 10. Colorants 12 having different colors are then sprayed from sprays 11 and the paste 2 is leveled with a screed 3 and multiply colored. Decorating effect is enhanced.
