Abstract:

To obtain the subject compound useful as a ligand of asymmetric catalytic reaction, for optical resolution of asymmetric compound, etc., in a high yield while controlling the generation of a cyclic substance as a by-product by reacting a specific multidentate organic lithium compound with an OH group- containing organic compound.

(A) A compound of formula I {(n) is 2-6; R is an organic n- functional group such as a group of formula II [R3 to R10 are each H or a hydrocarbon group; Z2 is a (substituted) aliphatic or alicyclic hydrocarbon bifunctional group or O; m3 is ≥0] or the like; Y is a halogen such as Cl or the like} is reacted with (B) a compound of the formula R1OH [R1 is a (substituted) hydrocarbon group] B1 and a compound of formula II (R2 is R1) (B2) or (C) a compound obtained by bonding R1 of the compound (B1) to R2 of the compound of B2 to give a compound of formula III (R1 and R2 may be mutually bonded or R1s or R2s mutually bonded to different phosphorus atoms through O may form a bonded or condensed ring).
