PURPOSE: To obtain the multiple oxide superconductor having the large critical current density by mixing the powder of the multiple oxide superconductor compsn. consisting of a rare earth element-alkaline earth metal element-copper system and single crystal powder having the grain size larger than this powder, then molding and calcining the mixture.
CONSTITUTION: The multiple oxide superconductor contg. the rare earth element (Ln), the alkaline earth metal (M) and the copper is produced by mixing the 1st powder having the compsn. LnM2Cu3Ox and the 2nd powder which has the same compsn. but is larger in the grain size than this powder and in which the respective powder particles are the single crystals, then molding and calcining the mixture. Ln in this case denotes Y, La, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb or Lu and M denotes Ba, Sr or Ca. The multiple oxide superconductors of a Bi-Sr-Ca-Cu-O system and Tl-Ba-Ca-Cu-O system are produced in the same manner.
