Title:
PRODUCTION OF NITROGEN GAS
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS54116397
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To economically produce nitrogen on a small scale by mixing combustion exhaust gas into air; reducing residual oxygen with hydrogen; and removing moisture and CO2.

CONSTITUTION: Air is diluted with combustion exhaust gas to make the oxygen concn. constant in the range of 6W15%. To the diluted air is then added hydrogen of the stoichiometric vol. or a slight excess of the vol., followed by combustion. This combustion gas is cooled to about 5°C to remove condensed water and contacted to an adsorbent such as molecular sieve to remove CO2, thus obtaining nitrogen gas.
