To easily produce the subject compound by readily oxidizing an amine compound with a slight amount of oxygen in the presence of a fluorinated pitch.
This method for producing a nitron compound from an amine compound comprises oxidizing the amine compound (for example, a cyclic amine compound such as piperidine) in the presence of a fluorinated pitch. The oxidation reaction is preferably carried out using oxygen in air at the ordinary temperature at the atmospheric pressure, and the fluorinated pitch is used, for example, in a range of 2-15 wt.% based on the amine compound. The method comprises a process for adding the fluorinated pitch and the amine compound to a solvent capable of dispersing the fluorinated pitch therein and a process for charging air into the solvent and simultaneously stirring the solvent. The fluorinated pitch preferably substantially comprises carbon atoms and fluorine atoms, and includes a powdery fluorinated pitch having a fluorine/ carbon ratio of about 0.5-1.8.
