PURPOSE: To obtain the titled recording material excellent in preservability, by a method wherein a metallic reflective layer is obtained from a solution containing a metallic salt, a complex salt of a metal, a reducing agent and a binder, is washed with a solvent, and a solution containing a coloring matter and a binder is coated thereon to produce a heat-deformable light-absorbing layer.
CONSTITUTION: A solution containing a metallic salt or a complex salt of a metal (e.g., nickel chloride), a reducing agent (e.g., formaldehyde) and a binder (e.g., polyvinyl alcohol) is coated on a substrate (e.g., an acrylic resin plate) and is heated to produce the metallic reflective layer. The layer is than washed with a solvent (e.g., water) to remove the residue and reaction products of the binder, the metallic salt, the reducing agent and the like. Thereafter, a solution containing a binder and a coloring matter (e.g., water blue) is coated on the reflective layer to produce the light-absorbind layer. The thickness of the metallic reflective layer is so adjusted as to obtain a reflectivity of 15W75%, while that of the light-absorbing layer is adjusted to within the range of 0.1W10μm.
