Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable to product the subject compound useful as a raw material for synthesizing medicines, agrochemicals, etc., in high stereoseletivity by reducing a ketone compound in the presence of a specific compound having an asymmetric carbon atom.
SOLUTION: A ketone compound such as a compound of formula II [Q is H, a coordinating functional group; ring J1 is a (substituted) aromatic hydrocarbon group, a (substituted) aromatic heterocyclic group; R is a (substituted) hydrocarbon group, a (substituted) heterocyclic group] in the presence of a compound of formula I [ring D, ring E are each a (halogenated) 1-6C alkyl- substituted phenyl; X is a binding hand, a divalent 1-6C hydrocarbon group; *is an asymmetric group] {e.g. (R,R)-2,2'-bis[3,5-bis(trifluoromethyl) phenyl]-[4,4'-bis(1,3,2-dioxaborolane)]-5,5'-dione}.
