PURPOSE: To obtain plywood having smoothness, in producing painted form plywood by painting the surface of plywood, by making it possible to repair the fine unvenness of the surface of the plywood so as to obtain a uniform surface by using an aqueous resin on the surface of the plywood.
CONSTITUTION: Painted plywood used in a form at the time of the casting of concrete is obtained by painting the surface of plywood with a resin compsn. based on an aqueous resin. That is, the aqueous resin compsn. is used as the undercoat resin of usual plywood to be applied to the plywood by a coating machine such as a knife coater and, after drying, a solvent or solventless type resin is applied to the plywood as topcoat paint. As the aqueous resin, either one of acrylic type or vinyl acetate type emulsion, styrene/butadiene type synthetic rubber latex, acrylonitrile/butadiene type synthetic rubber latex, a polyacrylamide resin, a PVA modified resin and an aqueous urethane resin or a mixture of two or more kinds of them is used.
