Abstract:

To provide a method for simply synthesizing a perfluoroalkyl group- containing alkyl iodide in high yield.

A mixture of an acid iodide of a perfluorocarboxylic acid with a terminal olefin is heated in the presence of a copper catalyst to carry out the production of a perfluoroalkyl iodide by decarbonylating reaction of the acid iodide and simultaneous addition reaction of the perfluoroalkyl iodide to the terminal olefin.
