PURPOSE: To manufacture a highly accurate plug easily and surely by mounting a capillary tube of brittle sintered material provided with a microhole for insertion of an optical fiber, etc. to a metal collar thereby forming the plug.
CONSTITUTION: If, for example, ceramics of brittle sintered material are molded and are polished at outside diameter, inside diameter, etc., a capillary tube 9 provided with a tapered part 11, a microhole 10 of a highly accurate inside diameter for insertion of an optical fiber 3, a highly accurate outside diameter part, etc. is provided. If this tube 9 is press-fitted into the capillary tube containing hole 7 of a metal collar 5 and the tube 9 and the collar 5 are combined, the highly accurate plug is manufactured easily and surely.
