Abstract:
PURPOSE:To provide a pneumatic tire having improved water-resistant adhesivity and corrosion fatigue resistance of steel cord used as carcass cord or belt cord and to provide a process for producing the pneumatic tire by making a triazine thiol compound to be adhesive to the steel cord. CONSTITUTION:A triazine thiol compound is added to and dissolved in a basic substance capable of forming a water-soluble salt with the triazine thiol compound to obtain a mixture containing the compound to its solubility limit. The mixture is dissolved in an aqueous solution of a drawing lubricant to get a triazine thiol compound concentration of 1.0-10.0wt.%. A steel wire is drawn with a die in the aqueous solution of the drawing lubricant, obtained steel wires are twisted and the steel cord is used as the carcass cord or the belt cord of a tire.
