Title:
PRODUCTION OF POLARIZING FILM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3680709
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce an iodine-containing polarizing film which undergoes slight deterioration in its optical performance under high heat and humidity and exhibits high durability.
SOLUTION: When a polyvinyl alcohol film subjected to uniaxial stretching and iodine adsorption and orientation treatment is immersed in a boric acid- containing aqueous solution to produce an iodine-containing polarizing film, the boric acid-containing aqueous solution is kept at ≤pH 4.5. The boric acid- containing aqueous solution used once in boric acid treatment is effectively reused while keeping the pH at ≤4.5.
