Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a woven fabric having the body and stiffness and a chinchillalike touch feeling with good productivity by carrying out the finishing processing including sanding processing of a woven fabric comprising a blended yarn of a low shrinkable polyester staple fiber with a highly shrinkable polyester staple fiber.

CONSTITUTION: The blend spinning of a low shrinkable staple fiber, obtained by melt spinning polyethylene terephthalate and drawing the resultant fiber and having 1-3% dry heat shrinkage factor with a highly shrinkable staple fiber having 18-35% dry heat shrinkage factor is carried out to provide a blended yarn, which is then used to weave a 2/1 twill fabric. The resultant woven fabric is subsequently scoured and sanding processing thereof is then carried out with a raising machine having a sheet of emery paper. Dyeing and finishing are performed to afford a chinchillalike woven fabric.
