Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide the method for producing the polyester web excellent in the depth and brilliance of color.
CONSTITUTION: Woven or knitted fabric comprising split type polyester fibers provided with following requirements (1)-(5) is prepared. (1) Plural polyester ultrafine fibers each having a modified cross section are joined to each other. (2) In the polyester ultrafine fiber, two of a low viscosity polyester component and a high viscosity polyester component are combined in a side-by-side type. (3) The difference between the intrinsic viscosities [η] of the low viscosity polyester component and the high viscosity polyester component is ≥0.15. (4) Plural polyester ultrafine fibers are joined to each other with a polyester binder. (5) The alkali solubility of the polyester binder is larger than those of the low viscosity polyester and the high viscosity polyester. The woven or knitted fabric is subjected to a splitting treatment and subsequently to a shrinkage treatment. Thereby, the polyester web formed from the crimped polyester ultrafine fibers is obtained.
