PURPOSE: To obtain the compsn. without using surfactants by heating a loadable latex consisting of a continuous aqueous phase and a loadable polymer particle- contg. dispersion phase and adding a water-miscible org. solvent soln. of a hydrophobic material to this latex, thereby associating the polymer particles and the hydrophobic material.
CONSTITUTION: The objective compsn. adequate in the field of photography, etc., is obtd. by heating the loadable latex consisting of the continuous aqueous phase and the dispersion phase contg. the loadable polymer particles obtd. from at least one kind of ethylenic unsatd. polymerizable monomer [more preferably m-(2-chloroethyl sulfonylmethyl)styrene, etc.], to a temp. of 30 to 95°C, more preferably 40 to 90°C, gradually adding the hydrophobic material ((e.g. photographic additive, etc.), soln. dissolved in at least one kind of the water- miscible org. solvent (e.g. methanol, etc.), (preferably at an addition rate of 2 to 30 ml/min) thereto to put the polymer particles and the hydrophobic material into the associated state, then adding water thereto to reduce the solubility of the hydrophobic material in the continuous aqueous phase, thereby moving the hydrophobic material to the dispersion phase.
