Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a molding having good mold release properties and coatability and suffering little bleeding with time, by incorporating a specified aliphatic ketone when producing polyurethane and/or polyurea moldings by reaction injection molding from an organic polyisocyanate, etc., as raw materials.
CONSTITUTION: A process for producing polyurethane and/or polyurea moldings by reaction injection molding from a liquid polyol mixture consisting of an organic polyisocyanate, a polyol, a polyamine, a chain extender, an internal mold release agent, other auxiliaries, etc., wherein a 10-50C aliphatic symmetric ketone or a 10-25C aliphatic asymmetric ketone is used as the internal mold release agent in an amount of 0.05-10wt.% based on the polyol mixture. As the polyol, a polyether polyol obtained by the addition polymerization of a cyclic ether having a functionality of 2 to 3 is preferably used. Examples of the ketone compounds include di-n-hexyl ketone, di-n-heptadecyl ketone, etc., and methyl n-nonyl ketone, 2,4-octadecyldione, etc. This polyurethane and/or polyurea molding process is excellent in releasability from a metal mold and gives a molding having good physical properties and coatability.
