Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ceramic slurry production process which enables the production of a uniformly dispersed ceramic slurry without causing excessive damage to a ceramic powder, also to provide a ceramic green sheet production process and further to provide a multilayer ceramic electronic component manufacturing process.
SOLUTION: The ceramic slurry production process comprises: subjecting ceramic powder having 0.01-1 μm average particle size, together with a dispersion medium (solvent), to mixing and disintegration by an impact force type high pressure dispersion method that comprises disintegrating and dispersing the ceramic powder under a ≥100 kg/cm2 pressure, to obtain a mixed and disintegrated slurry of the ceramic powder; and further dispersing the ceramic powder by a shear stress type high pressure dispersion method that comprises passing the mixed and disintegrated slurry through a prescribed passage at a flow rate sufficient to apply a ≥1,000 Pa maximum shear stress or ≥106 (1/s) wall surface shear rate to the ceramic powder.
