PURPOSE: To provide a method for production of a pulp molding, capable of obtaining a product accuracy without damage or deformation of a pulp molding when releasing the pulp molding molded from pulp slurry using a mold and to provide an apparatus therefor.
CONSTITUTION: A pulp molding 44 on the molding surface 18 of a molding tool 14a or 14b existing at the upper side position is covered with a covering member 48 and a high-temperature gas is supplied from a high-temperature gas generator 66 so as to cover the pulp molding 44. At the same time, the high-temperature gas is sucked through a suction hole 32 and allowed to pass in the direction of the thickness of the pulp molding 44 by making the pressure in the mold 14 negative using a suction unit 42. Thereby, the pulp molding can be rapidly dried without generation of strain.
