Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain granules, remarkably improved in solubility in solvents and excellent in operating efficiency with reduced cost and danger in transportation by heating a thermoplastic urethane resin solution above the boiling point of a solvent, then decompressing the resin solution, producing resin pieces and crushing the resultant resin pieces. CONSTITUTION:A thermoplastic urethane resin solution derived from a polyol, a polyisocyanate, a chain extender and a solvent is heated above the boiling point of a solvent and then led to a decompression chamber to produce foamy resin pieces, which are subsequently crushed or pulverized. The reactive components of the aforementioned urethane resin are regulated to a ratio so as to provide 1:(0.9-1.1) ratio of (NCO equiv.):(OH equiv. + active hydrogen equiv. of the chain extender). Heating is preferably carried out to a temperature >=10 deg.C above the boiling point of the solvent and the pressure of the decompression chamber is preferably 0.1-50mmHg.
