PURPOSE: To improved the voltage holding rate by treating a liquid crystal with a powder of bismaleimide resin obtd. by polymn. of a bismaleimide compd.
CONSTITUTION: The liquid crystal is treated with a powder of bismaleimide resin obtd. by polymn. of a bismaleimide compd. The liquid crystal is not limited as far as it is generally used for a liquid crystal display device and may be a single compd. or a mixture compds. As for the resin powder, a reaction product obtd. by the reaction of bismaleimide and diamine or diallyl compd., usually in an equal molar ratio, is used. However, the powder is not limited as far as it can not be dissolved in the liquid crystal to be used. The average particle size of the compd. powder is not specified, and preferably in a range of 0.1μm-5000μm. As for the treating method, any method may be used as far as the liquid crystal is brought into contact with the powder of bismaleimide resin obtd. by polynm. of a bismaleimide compd.
