Abstract:

PURPOSE: To simplify facilitates and facilitate operation and maintenance through control of reaction temp. without use of a heat medium, by introducing a preheated pressurized starting gas to prepare a high-temp. reaction product gas, wherein water or a water/alcohol mixture is introduced into a reactor to conduct heat exchange.

CONSTITUTION: A pressurized raw material gas comprising preheated gasified methanol and steam is introduced from a pipe 6 into a reactor R to conduct a reaction. The high-temp. reaction product gas thus formed, is passed successively through a recovery device E1 for preheating a starting gas, a starting methanol evaporator E2, a methanol preheater E3 and a reaction product gas cooler E4 through pipes 7W10, thereby cooling the formed gas to a desired temp. The gas is passed through a pipe 11, part of water is separated in a water separator S, and the gas is then fed into a decarbonator. On the other hand, water in a liq. state is introduced into the reactor R through a pipe 17 from the bottom of a gas-liq. separating drum D, part of water is converted to steam with heat of reaction and refluxed into the drum D through a pipe 18 to separate water from steam. The steam is passed through a pipe 15, and part of the steam is passed through a pipe 4, combined with a methanol gas from the evaporator E2 and fed into the reactor R after preheating in the heat recovery device E1, and the remainder is transferred to the decarbonator.
