Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain the titled composition capable of exhibiting excellent lubricating performance under condition of especially low-speed and high load at a specific ratio, by blending a lubricating oil with ultrahigh-molecular weight PE under reduced pressure, melting the resultant blend while heating, cooling and solidifying the molten blend.

CONSTITUTION: (A) A lubricating oil in an amount of 60W90wt.% is blended with (B) 40W10wt.% ultrahigh-molecular weight PE under reduced pressure of ≤100mmHg (optimally ≤40mmHg) for 1W30min. The resultant blend is then melted at a temperature within the range of 100W250°C while being heated, then slowly cooled normally at 0.1W10°C/min (preferably 0.5W5°C/min) cooling rate and solidified. The lubricating oil is impregnated into the ultrahigh- molecular weight PE and exuded, with the result that lubricity is exhibited. Furthermore, the amount of the exuded lubricating oil can be regulated by changing the amount of the blended lubricating oil or cooling rate.
